My EverythingComposed by Puabi
You are my every thing;
My sun in the morning,
My moon at night.
My messenger of good fortune;
Now all is right.
The air around us is calm and warm;
The wind is low and softly blows.
And, in our tight embrace,
When I see your face,
My heart, like a bird, takes flight.
I adore you, beloved!
What Morning BringsFor Puabi
The morning sun shines overhead;
Its light makes my eyes open wide and wink.
I sit up slowly in my bed,
And the calm and stillness help me think.
But in all of this,
And aided by the sky above,
I feel a tender, impassioned kiss;
And my heart and mind are filled with love.
"Good morning, beloved!"
Eyes Have Me
The hours till daybreak crawl slowly by;
I lie in my bed and I try to sleep.
Something keeps me awake;
I scarcely know why.
It seems that something slowly, surely creeps.
I have that feeling, long and deep,
That eyes are upon me.
I am cemented to where I lie;
I fail to rise, although I try;
Yet I still breathe and I do not die.
Still, I cannot break free.
Still of Night
Sitting at rest in the still of night,
I heard a slow tap on my window pane;
Like the persistent code of a telegraph,
But with no hand to send.
The tapping continued two more times,
Riveting me to the pane.
It began as one single tap;
But slowly it increased to two,
Then three.
Light and faint like the rap
From the branch of a tree.
I opened my window to look out;
But the nearest tree was meters away.
ThawFor Puabi
Two degrees warmer than yesterday;
The air just warm enough.
I feel a thawing of both flesh and bones;
A warm flow in my heart.
It is love.
The wintry air clears the land;
The natives still lost for what to do.
The woodlands know it best;
They all hibernate,
To wait till this chill is through.
With warm love in heart,
And a thaw in my skin,
I await the change in my room.
And providing continuing warmth is one I love.
Glacier
The icy chill to the outdoor air
Lingers round my room like a shroud;
The sky day and night is dark so long,
Filled with thick black clouds.
Ideas may flow,
But not so watery smooth;
The chilly air forbids them to flow fast.
I lie with my lover at my side,
And I take a needed rest.
My mind freezes over like a glacier,
Or the chill cliff of Everest;
Weather here may continue quite long;
It puts my will to test.
The New MeaningFor Puabi
This world had lost so much meaning;
It was so dirty, and in need of deep cleaning.
Those I once knew no longer knew me.
Then I found a book;
I opened it and I took a look.
It taught me more than all seeming.
I found a text that spoke of old times;
And of names I did not know.
I read the passage cautiously;
And, when I was through,
I saw you.
Now, whenever I call your name,
You give my life and my world new meaning.
Indoors, Outdoors For Puabi
Outdoors, the wind coldly blows;
It chills everything it touches.
Indoors, a soft, tender breeze;
It thrills me as it touches.
Chilling streams of rain crash down,
As the wind outdoors is blowing.
Indoors, only sweet, warm drops streak down;
A tender stream of tears flowing.
A light velvety feel upon my chest;
A soft whisper calling.
The glow of two moist, fresh eyes shines forth;
Her sweet smile reflects it.
Life is ForFor Puabi
The clouds are dark;
They look heavy with rain,
But till now no rain pours down.
I lie on my bed;
Her head on my chest.
We care not what goes on in the town.
The words of her song*come alive,
As we lie close together till night.
Let the cold rain pour down;
Let the streets flood,
And the people run madly indoors.
Heavenly peace,
Warm and tender care;
These are what we live for.
*"Your love is my kingdom,
Your heart is my throne."

Warm Love, Cold CoffeeFor Puabi
Alone in the cafe so tenderly;
Enjoying the sweetness of an iced drink.
Together, in our sweet serenity,
As a pair of lovers is always meant to be;
Only her and me.
To hug and to kiss,
In our eternity.
