Honestly, you are surprised at what you have now. The day, the sun hasn't rose yet, your window is open and you can see the street basking in that pre-dawn light, that glow the earth seems to get before the day breaks. Cars are being heard over the drizzle of rain more consistently than they had been an hour ago, for that it is time for the daily commute to work. You, luckily, never had to do that- living where you worked was always a benefit in that regard.
Instead, you can spend this extra hour in bed, listening to the rain. Surrounding you, kittens of various appearances, and curled up next to you, an interesting and lovely man known as M
The rain hit against the roof, and the building's drainage system made the storm seem all the louder. A flash of light. The clap of thunder. Not that far off, all things considered. You extinguish the butt of your cigarette into the already ashy tray, and pull out another one. Five left. You need to quit. You don't want to. It's difficult to light it when your hand keeps shaking. You need a break. How long have you been up- 45 hours now? What if someone came in. What if you were unprepared.
You can't sleep. Not right now.
The sting of smoke filling your lungs is not one you're unuse to. At this point, it's almost inviting. Reminds you of di
Stung by the wrath of the gods,
falling in between wars and hate,
despair wove its way into the hearts of Kaine.
Never had there been such sorrow,
as rainbows bled with tears.
Help us! Lift us up!
The people prayed,
but the gods had turned away.
Hope was barely a glimmer left in memory.
There was nought but helpless fear in the horizon.
Staring at the night skies,
abandon by those they served,
a falling star streaked across their sorrowed hearts,
leaving a rain of light upon those who saw.
Lift your voice across the sea,
stars that shine,
remember me.
Though your hopes have gone astray,
Light is there for those who seek.

Slipping Between Dreams Part 2
The sun was going down as Iridethia was getting off work. Waving goodbye to her boss at Lorelei’s Music, she sprinted down the sidewalk to the bus stop. As usual, she just barely caught the 8:30 bus. Finding a seat, the Nekonikai girl stared out the window, wondering what important thing Seth wanted to talk about.
The bus ride passed quickly, and all too soon, Iridethia was walking up her driveway. The porch light was on, a bright blue light welcoming her home. “I’m home!” she called, closing the front door behind her. Kicking off her clunky boots into a corner, she followed the scent of bacon to the kitchen.

“Naota! There’s one last box in the truck!”
“Yeah, I got it!” The boy replied, shouting with little enthusiasm. He jogged past his mother, climbing into the back of the moving-truck. The box wasn’t large, but it was heavy enough. Naota carried it out of the truck to the house, “What’s in this? It weighs a ton.”
“I’m sure it doesn’t weigh that much. Here, just set it in the living room. We can unpack it together.”
“’Kay,” He was quick to put it down. Naota sat on the carpeted floor and peeled off the box’s packaging tape.

Chapter One
“What is wrong with you Kevith?” demanded the Gataki queen Amy. Her blond hair was a fluffy halo, framing her delicate feline features, and complimenting her luxurious white fur. “These 'HUMANS' are being hunted by dragons! They might be spies sent by the Winged Ones! Foolish son! Have you forgotten why we left our world? Or why the DRAGONS abandoned this country?”
Prince Kevith sighed. He ran a hand over his face, golden eyes full of uncertainty and frustration. Watching his mother's fluffy white tail flick against her marble throne, he felt his own golden tail begin swishing. “Mother,” he
Ajjh was once the land of dragons. For one reason or another, the dragons moved on, and a new race built their country there. They were referred to by the dragons as Gataki, which means “kitty people”. The Gataki were called so because of their feline features, such as cat ears and tails. Only powerful mages have tails, though.
The royal family built their palace on the ruins of a dragon palace, because of the beauty of the architecture and a magic fountain found in a lower chamber. This fountain could stop a person from aging, and keep them fit and whole minded. It didn’t protect against weapons, poison or magic, but it

Melody of Creeping Insanity
Stay back
shadows haunt me
fill my empty ears
songs of sorrow drip like open wounds
dazzling shards dot the landscape
and I know I'm no longer here
Flicker drops of scattered blood
scars like moonbeams glow
inner voids echo with insane laughter
tears like snow gather in an icy embrace
shimmer
sparkle
dazzle me
Captured heart with frantic dreams
dangle hope from a thread
taunt my inner demons to action
price of life for peace to fill
run until there's no tomorrow
only the endless hours consumes
and I am lost for eternity
